Leachate Installation

For many years, up to 2000 m3 per day of leachate from the waste disposal tip at Chelson Meadow in Devon, England, has been pumped into the adjacent river estuary. In 1994, Devon Waste Management, under pressure from environmental agencies, decided to install a treatment system to remove high levels of ammonia nitrogen from the wastewater. Black-Water Projects Limited won this prestigious contract using the specialised biological and process knowledge of Eco Process & Equipment inc. The SBR was the ideal solution to the problem and Eco's expertise and technical support were extremely valuable throughout all stages of the project. Ammonia nitrogen is now being reduced from 200 mg/L to less than 10 mg/L. Since this installation, we have had no hesitation in recommending Eco's SBR to solve a wide range of wastewater treatment problems.
